Our duty of care
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, anyone who produces, carries, or arranges disposal of waste in England and Wales has a legal duty of care to make sure it's handled safely and disposed of properly, right through to its final destination. We take that seriously — it's the whole reason the process below exists.
What happens to your waste
- Every load goes to a permitted site. We do not use unlicensed tips, and we never fly-tip. Nothing we collect is left on land, in a lay-by, or anywhere it shouldn't be.
- A waste transfer note is issued for every job. This is your written record of what was taken and where it went — proof your waste was handled and disposed of properly, not fly-tipped. You can ask for your copy on the day.
- We keep a photo record of every load. Photos are taken as part of the job, both for pricing accuracy and as part of our own duty-of-care record.
- We segregate where we can, before disposal. Items that can be reused or recycled are kept separate from general waste rather than mixed in and sent straight to landfill, wherever the load and the site allow it.
Where your waste goes
Every load we clear is taken to Newport Recycling Centre — the city's permitted household and commercial waste facility at Docks Way, Newport. How a given load is handled depends on the type of waste, but it always goes to this permitted site: never to unlicensed land, a lay-by, or anywhere it shouldn't be.
Our waste carrier registration
Waste carrier registration is held with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) — the regulator for a Wales-based waste operation. Registration number to follow — we'll publish it here once we have it on file.
What we won't take
Some waste needs a specialist, licensed route we're not set up to provide — hazardous waste (paints, solvents, chemicals, oils, fuels), asbestos in any form, clinical or medical waste, and gas bottles or pressurised cylinders. If you have any of these, tell us when you enquire and we'll point you towards the correct route, such as your local council's hazardous-waste service or a licensed specialist carrier.
